Praise for emergency workers’ quick response after accident

How fortunate we are to live in a town with such an excellent response team.

On the afternoon of May 26, a car hit a utility pole in front of our home. The car was badly damaged, but I was told by a police officer that the driver was physically OK thanks to her seat belt and airbag.

I wanted to take the time to thank the emergency response team, including the Acton police, fire department, and ambulance EMTs for their quick, expert, and caring response. It was a privilege to see the whole team in action, including ensuring that the young students in a school bus that couldn’t get by connected with their families.

The police had to patrol the area, blocking the road, until Verizon could replace the pole in the wee hours of the morning. By the time we woke up the next day, the road was open, pole replaced, and everything back to normal.

How fortunate we are to live in a town with such an excellent response team.
