Recreation Commission seeking new member
Paul Boehm’s election to the Select Board opens a seat on the five-member Acton Recreation Commission.
After the recent town election elevated longtime Recreation Commissioner Paul Boehm to a seat on the Select Board (congratulations, Paul!), a seat on the five-member Acton Recreation Commission is now open.
The Recreation Commission helps the wonderful team at Acton Recreation to plan and execute their many youth and adult sports programs, child care and after-school programs, community events, and summer camps; and to run the Beede Center. It also takes an active role in helping the town plan for and manage our diverse recreation facilities.
We are fortunate here in Acton to have such a wide variety of recreation options, and a diverse and engaged Recreation Commission is a great way to ensure that these opportunities continue to serve the needs of our residents.
Recreation commissioners are appointed by the Town Manager. If you are interested in joining the Recreation Commission, please fill out a volunteer interest form on the town website at concordma.gov.
