Reed will ensure all voices are heard

She has the knowledge of both our town character and our local government to ensure that all Concordians have a voice in our body politic.

Karlen Reed will be a great town moderator. She has the 360-degree knowledge of both our town character and our local government to ensure that all Concordians have a voice in our body politic.

What is my evidence?

I have worked with Karlen in supporting Acton’s voting process.

  • Karlen worked with our town clerk to define a 47-step process — yes, you are reading my words correctly, a 47-step process — to ensure that all mail-in votes are validated and counted.
  • I am honored to volunteer to work within such a reputable voting process.

I have worked with Karlen in the League of Women Voters of Acton.

  • Karlen manages much of the public communication for the League — including their website and weekly newsletter.
  • In this role, Karlen must distill complex issues into topics and calls-to-action that resonate with Acton citizens.
  • She excels at making complex issues easy to understand.

Karlen will excel in the role of moderator because she:

  • Wants all citizen petitions to have a fair hearing at Town Meeting and is committed to working with petitioners to fine-tune their articles;
  • Will assure that the Town Meeting book, including the new digital version, is complete, unbiased, and easy to read;
  • Has a sense of humor to ensure all citizen voices at Town Meeting are heard, while politely suggesting limitations to repetitive speakers.

Bottom line, Karlen wants all Concordians to have a full voice at Acton Town Meeting. Please join me in electing Karlen Reed as Acton’s town moderator.
