Require bells on bikes for better safety on trails

My friend and I had a lovely walk on the Reformatory Branch Trail on Sunday [September 21] but were concerned about our safety due to the fast-moving bikers on the trail. 

My brother lives in Washington, D.C., and is an avid biker and told me that they have an ordinance that bikers must have a bell on their bikes to signal to walkers that they are approaching. 

I think that would be a good idea for the bikers and help the walkers on our wonderful trails and could improve safety on our town streets.
