Sam Hiersteiner is ‘exactly what Acton needs’
We can say without reservation that Sam is a person of the highest integrity, honor, and personal character.
We are writing in support of Sam Hiersteiner for the Acton Select Board.
Acton is a town with a proud history, strong civic engagement, and thoughtful local governance. As we face important decisions about fiscal responsibility, public safety, sustainability, and preserving the character of our community, we need leaders who listen carefully, think critically, and act with integrity. Sam embodies all of these qualities.
Over the years, Sam has demonstrated a deep commitment to Acton through his work on Gaining Ground’s board of directors, coaching youth sports, and community involvement. Sam’s professional experience and civic expertise will be especially valuable as the Select Board addresses complex issues such as budgeting, infrastructure investments, housing needs, and environmental stewardship.
What sets Sam apart is his collaborative approach. He understands that Acton’s strength lies in respectful dialogue and thoughtful decision-making. Sam is committed to transparency, careful analysis, and long-term planning that balances progress with preservation. When ideas become too concentrated among familiar voices, a stagnant environment results and the status quo is maintained by default.
Sam and his wife, Jackie, and three children were one of the first families we met when we moved to Acton three years ago, and we have since shared many meals, conversations, and family vacations. We can say without reservation that Sam is a person of the highest integrity, honor, and personal character. He will bring a steady, principled leadership with new perspectives to steer innovation, improve policy outcomes, and lead our town into its future — and for these reasons Sam is exactly what Acton needs now.
We strongly encourage our fellow residents to vote for Sam Hiersteiner for Select Board.
