Share your thoughts on accessibility
Your personal stories, thoughts, and suggestions are the heart of this effort.
I am reaching out with exciting and important news. Acton will soon be launching a thorough assessment of accessibility in our community, making sure that everyone — especially those of us living with limitations or disabilities — can fully enjoy all that Acton has to offer. In addition to helping Acton become more friendly and attractive, your participation is of particular importance to my family.
This is a chance to make your voice heard. The town is interested in access, regardless of whether you are officially disabled or limited in some way. The survey is about access to programs and services, e.g., library forums, recreation programs, absent or deteriorated sidewalks, access to nature trails, Acton’s website, etc. Your personal stories, thoughts, and suggestions are the heart of this effort.
By sharing your experience, you will help us spot barriers and discover ways to make the town’s public spaces, programs, and services more welcoming. I am certain the survey will be the centerpiece for developing a plan to make Acton a place where everyone feels included and at home.
The survey is online and easy to find, and it takes less than 10 minutes. Paper copies are also available at various locations around town (both library branches, Town Clerk’s Office, Hunt Recreation, and Beede Center). Your participation will mean so much to the success of this initiative — and to the future of our community. Visit concordma.gov/ADASurvey to share your feedback.
I hope Concordians participate. A high number of completed surveys will make for influential planning.
Thank you for your support to make Acton’s programs and services accessible and welcome for everyone.
