Sincere thanks for supporting the CFPL book sale

What makes the sale so special is not just the funds raised, but the community that comes together to make it happen.

The Friends of the Acton Free Public Library would like to thank the community for making this year’s book sale another extraordinary success. Officially, a record-breaking $38,000 was raised on June 6.

What makes the sale so special is not just the funds raised, but the community that comes together to make it happen. More than 150 volunteers, ranging in age from 12 to 89, donated their time and energy to the event. Volunteers participated individually and through organizations including the National Charity League, Acton-Carlisle High School’s WIQH radio, the Boy Scouts, Chase Bank, and the dedicated year-round team of Friends book sorters.

Throughout the day, an estimated 2,500 patrons browsed, purchased, and connected with neighbors. The Friends were also proud to share the day with Acton Pride, helping introduce new visitors to one of Acton’s most beloved traditions.

Proceeds from the sale directly support enhanced library services, programs, creative educational opportunities, staff development, and library collections for the benefit of the entire community.

From middle school students to volunteers in their late 80s, the book sale reflects the very best of Acton. Few community events bring together so many generations in support of a shared civic institution. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated books, volunteered their time, and came out to support the library.
