The time is now for schools to address antisemitism
Are civil rights violations not serious enough to warrant convening a special School Committee meeting in July?
If Superintendent of Schools Laurie Hunter and School Committee Chair Tracey Marano take the acts of antisemitism that have recently come to light as seriously as they say, then why are they waiting until August 20 to hold the next meeting of the School Committee? Are civil rights violations not serious enough to warrant convening a special School Committee meeting in July?
I should think they would be eager to have as much lead time as possible to begin discussing, researching, and planning best approaches to addressing the issue before September.
