Third-round playoff loss ends strong season for boys lacrosse
The CCHS boys team notched an 8-4 victory over Catholic Memorial, but fell to Lincoln-Sudbury in the third round.

In the MIAA Division I lacrosse playoffs, the Acton-Carlisle High School boys team notched an 8-4 victory over Catholic Memorial, but fell to Lincoln-Sudbury in the third round. The Patriots closed out their 2025 season at 16-4.
In their second-round matchup against Catholic Memorial, CC got off to a slow start and trailed 3-1 at halftime, with its only goal coming from Jason Swaim. But the Patriots began the second half with a Peter Burke goal, and then Matthew Carleton tied the game off a feed from Eric Palmer. Moments later, Tyler Shepard connected with Lukas Lundberg to give CC its first lead of the night.

The Knights goalie turned away shot after shot, but Palmer broke through just before the third-quarter horn, and CC added to its lead in the fourth with goals from Alex Kosicki, Lundberg, and a man-up rebound goal from Alex Fivek to seal the win. Sam Griswold and Stoddard Healy led the defensive effort, with goalie Henry Morgan making several clutch saves.
That win set up a third-round showdown with familiar foe Lincoln-Sudbury on Sunday night. Swaim scored an early goal, but LS quickly responded. Swaim notched an additional goal, but a penalty called on Griswold and a pair of sharp LS finishes gave the Warriors a 6-3 halftime lead.
A resolute Swaim opened the second half with another individual goal — his third of the game — but LS slowly extended its margin to 11-4. Lundberg scored as time expired in the third quarter. Swaim assisted Palmer early in the fourth, and Palmer later added another man-up goal. Fivek also netted a late goal, but the deficit was too much to overcome as LS closed out a 14-8 win.
