This Sunday, celebrate Sun Day at our family-friendly gathering
Here in Acton, residents and businesses are strengthening our community by tapping into the limitless power of the sun.
Each day, the town of Acton and all other points on Earth turn to the sun. We Concordians ongoingly face and revolve about the sun — we are deeply bound to the relationship. In exchange for our planet’s unceasing attention, the sun provides light, heat, and ultraviolet energy. Scientists tell us this relationship will continue for another 5 billion to 6 billion years. That’s a lot of zero-cost, sustainable energy.
Join us Sunday, September 21, for “Sun Day,” when we will celebrate and demonstrate the power of clean energy from the sun. Solar, wind, and batteries now are the cheapest form of power on the planet. Acton’s “Sun Day” event is one of hundreds across the country in a national day of action and appreciation.
Here in Acton, residents and businesses are lowering costs, creating new jobs, and strengthening our community by tapping into the limitless power of the sun. Sun Day is a communitywide event to share our success to date along with the possibility of a clean energy future for all.
This family-friendly event will include participatory art projects for all ages; residents sharing electrification success stories; and practical information on solar panels, heat pumps, electric vehicles, electric lawn/yard equipment, and more. We also will have a community sing-along of songs about the sun (of course).
The Sun Day celebration will run from 2-4 p.m. on the front lawn of First Parish Church, 20 Lexington Road, Acton. The event will take place rain or shine.
