Two wins in three matches for Patriots field hockey
The Pats took an L against Nashoba Regional, but prevailed against Wayland and Westford Academy.

The Nashoba Regional Wolves are fierce — 14-0-1 coming into the October 19 match — but the Acton-Carlisle varsity field hockey team nearly held them at bay, ultimately losing 3-2.
Team record: Overall 8-3-4; Dual County League 5-0-1
Big game: Abby Ruhmann evened the game with a goal in the first half. Julia Reynolds scored an exciting fourth-quarter tally, which brought a tie (on the Wolves’ home turf) tantalizingly within reach — but the Pats ran out of time.
Unsung heroes: The JV squad won both its two weekend games, improving to 13-1-1.
Up next: The varsity was to face Acton-Boxborough on October 21 in an important league matchup.

CCHS 6, Wayland 1
On a crisp Friday evening, the Patriots extended their undefeated record in DCL league play, soundly defeating the Wayland Warriors on October 17 — a satisfying return to home turf after three away games in a row.

Big game: Co-captain Brynn Chaffee got the ball rolling with two early goals. Scarlett Mirak, Lindsay Cain, Elizabeth Sproule, and Reynolds kept the momentum going with one goal each.
Unsung heroes: The game featured another fine performance by the defense. Their steady sticks have frustrated opponents, holding them to one goal or fewer in nine of 14 games, and yielding more than two goals only twice all season.

CCHS 4, Westford Academy 1
The Patriots maintained their undefeated record in DCL league play with a solid win over Westford Academy on its home turf on October 15.
Team record: Overall 7-2-4; Dual County League 4-0-1
Big game: Mirak gave CCHS a comfortable edge with two consecutive goals.
Game changer: Sophia Arif and Maddie Minkin scored one each to put the game away.
Unsung heroes: The JV team set the stage with yet another sparkling win, this one 6-0.
