Story line: Despite the stellar play of Lincoln-Sudbury senior Tyler Whitehead (who opened with two birdies en route to shooting a 3-under 32), the Patriots’ resiliency and depth helped them overcome the early deficit.

Game changer: Fisher Tibbitt sank his 3½-footer for par on the ninth hole, keeping the Pats undefeated.

Big game: Glen Murdough pounded his driver long and straight and finished strong, posting birdies on both the eighth and ninth holes en route to an even-par 35 and a win (5.5-3.5). Captains Ahrinn Desai and Theo Price shot 36 and 38, respectively.

Unsung heroes: Playing in the No. 5 slot, Joe Grasso struggled mightily off the tee but recovered to card a 37 and win his match, 5-4. Grasso, Sophie Redmond, and Jake Erston helped lead the squad to a 39.0 match average through three contests.

CCHS 41, Weston 31

Battling wind, as well as the rolling hills and lightning-fast greens of Pine Brook Country Club, the Patriots employed a strong short game to best the host Wildcats. Seven of eight CCHS golfers won their matches.

Record: Overall 4-0; Dual County League: 3-0

Big game: Sophie Redmond, playing in the No. 4 slot, notched four birdies on the way to shooting a 1-under 35 and winning her match, 6-3.

Unsung heroes: Theo Price (37), Joe Grasso (38), and Ahrinn Desai (38) had strong rounds. Fisher Tibbett and Fox Anderson posted solid scores of 43 and 40, respectively.

Up next: The Patriots were to host Boston Latin on September 9 and Waltham on September 10.
