Vote Hiersteiner for expertise, ability to build trust
Acton needs leaders who can bring people together across generations; Sam offers empathy, warmth, and a collaborative spirit.
We are proud to endorse Sam Hiersteiner for election to the Select Board.
Sam has impressive professional experience and civic expertise, but what sets him apart is his rare ability to connect people, build trust, and create a sense of belonging. He understands that strong communities are built not only through policy, but through relationships — and through showing up for one another.
We know Sam as a friend, parent, and coach. He has led countless children in youth sports, all while modeling teamwork, kindness, and encouragement. He has an easy way with kids and adults alike, and a genuine belief that everyone has something to contribute.
Together, Sam and his wife, Jackie, have built a home that reflects these same values: welcoming, generous, and deeply rooted in mutual care. Their home is a gathering place where friendships are formed, conversations flow, and community is strengthened — often around a shared table. At a time when Acton needs leaders who can bring people together across generations, Sam offers empathy, warmth, and a collaborative spirit.
Our perspective is shaped by our experience serving in leadership roles within the elementary and preschool communities, as well as our active involvement in the Acton community. Through this work, we have seen how local decisions affect children, families, and neighborhoods — and the value of leaders who approach challenges thoughtfully and cooperatively.
We believe Sam will bring a perspective to the Select Board that is much needed — one rooted in empathy and collaboration, and one that will help Acton continue to meet the needs of residents of all generations.
