Vote ‘yes’ for local road upgrades and for proper facilities at CCHS
We need safe roads, and it is appalling that there is currently no accessible bathroom at the CCHS field.
At Town Meeting in June, there was much discussion about road upgrades and the bathroom facilities to be built at Acton-Carlisle High School near the football field. A few hundred people attended, and the vote was a resounding “yes” to both articles. We heard from both sides of the questions, and we made an informed decision. Because there is a certain level of money involved, the vote needs to be put on a ballot, and election day is August 19.
We need safe roads, and it is appalling that there is currently no accessible bathroom at the CCHS field. A writer in the August 8 edition of The Acton Bridge indicated that the portable toilets were good enough. Given the choice of a clean, accessible bathroom or a porta-potty, I think most people would choose a clean bathroom.
I urge all voters who did not attend Town Meeting to follow the lead of those who did, and vote “yes” on both Questions 1 and 2. You can vote early at the Town Clerk’s office if you will not be available on August 19.
