Vote ‘yes’ to improve and maintain Acton’s roads and sidewalks

This action was strongly endorsed at 2025 Town Meeting and now must be approved by a majority vote at the ballot box.

On August 19 there will be a special town election to vote on two items. We urge all Acton voters to get out and vote in support of the item “Debt Exclusion — Article 8,” which enables funding of road maintenance and safety improvements. This action was strongly endorsed at 2025 Town Meeting and now must be approved by a majority vote at the ballot box.

Well-maintained roads and sidewalks are essential for safe and efficient movement of residents, visitors, delivery drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians, public safety vehicles, and school buses.

The Article 8 presentation at Town Meeting explained the economic benefits and lower costs we can achieve by approving this bonding authorization.

Our roads and sidewalks are the foundation of our transportation system in Acton. The members of the Transportation Advisory Committee — Mark Gailus, Marianna Zak Hill, Nick Pappas, Philip Posner, Ellen Quackenbush, Daniel Schrager, and Rebecca Woodward — urge residents to vote in favor of the bonding proposal at the August 19, 2025, special town election.
